Not to be missed – the 16th annual New Zealand Forum on the Family is bringing together some exceptional international speakers. The forum also brings together a national network of family-focused organisations, scholars, leaders and individuals who are part of a movement for social change to bring New Zealand to a place where families are strengthened, marriage is honoured, life is protected, and religious freedom is upheld. Key speakers at this year’s Forum on the Family include:
- Chloe Cole (USA) – Chloe began transitioning to be a boy at 12 and de-transitioned at 16 after having undergone treatment which included puberty blockers at 13, testosterone, and a double mastectomy at age 15. She opposes gender-affirming care for minors and supports bans on such care. TOPIC: De-transitioner Fights To Protect Her Generation
- Melissa Ohden (USA) – Melissa is the survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion, and the author of the award winning book featuring her life story. She is the Founder and Director of The Abortion Survivors Network, the only healing and advocacy organisation for abortion survivors and their families worldwide. TOPIC: Making Abortion Unthinkable
- Maggie Hamilton (Aus) – Writer, researcher and story teller Maggie Hamilton is the author of “What Men Don’t Talk About”, “What’s Happening to Our Girls?”, “What’s Happening to Our Boys?” and “When We Become Strangers – How loneliness leaks into our lives, and what we can do about it”. Her new book is “What Happens to Our Kids When We Fail to Grow Up? – How to equip ourselves for a better future”. TOPIC: Understanding Youth Anxiety, Isolation and Entitlement
- Katy Faust (USA) – Katy Faust is founder and President of Them Before Us, a global movement defending the right of children to their mother and father. She publishes and speaks widely on why marriage and family are matters of justice for children. In 2021 she co-wrote “Them Before Us: Why We Need a Global Children’s Rights Movement”. She has detailed her philosophy of worldview transmission in her latest book, “Raising Conservative Kids in a Woke City”. TOPIC: Why Redefining The Family Violates The Children’s Rights
- Jonathan Haidt (USA) – Dr Jonathan Haidt is a social psychologist at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Haidt is the author of the New York Times bestsellers “The Righteous Mind” (2012) and “The Coddling of the American Mind” (2018). Since 2018 he has been studying the contributions of social media to the decline of teen mental health and the rise of political dysfunction. His new book is “The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness” (2024). [Jonathan will appear via Zoom interview]. The Gala Celebration Dinner is a unique dining event with three-course dinner, entertainment, guest speaker, and opportunity to ‘mix and mingle’ with others. The Forum 2024 conference speakers will also be in attendance. As this dinner will be held on the evening preceding the main NZ Forum on the Family, then why not attend both the Gala Dinner on Thursday evening and the main Forum on Friday.
The Gala Dinner speaker will be Lyle Shelton. Lyle is National Director of the recently re-birthed Family First political party. He previously served the Australian Christian Lobby for 10 years, five as managing director. During the 2017 same-sex marriage plebiscite he was spokesperson for the Coalition for Marriage. In 2016 his office in Canberra was car-bombed. In 2020, for warning Australian parents about drag queens being dangerous role models for children, Lyle was dragged before the Queensland Human Rights Commission under their anti-vilification laws. The case is ongoing. He is the author of “I Kid You Not – Notes from 20 Years in the Trenches of the Culture Wars”. TOPIC: Courage On The Frontlines

Cancellation and other terms
Should you wish to cancel your registration (for either the Forum or Gala Dinner) at least 30 days before the commencement of the event, we’ll refund you in full minus a $20.00 admin fee. If you cancel within 20 days of the event, we’ll refund 50% of the purchase price. If you cancel within 7 days of the event, or do a no-show on the day of the event, you’ll be liable for the full purchase price. In the unlikely event of cancellation of the event, the liability of the organisers is limited to the return of paid fees. The organisers may alter the times, dates and speakers of this event by notice to you at any time. While we are sorry if this causes inconvenience, the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damages or sadness arising from such changes.
